No — and this is the biggest misconception. Hotels, resorts and cruise lines pay advisors a commission directly. Your price is the same as booking on your own, and often better because of the relationships and consortia access through Travel Leaders Network.

The industry has largely moved from “travel agent” to “travel advisor” to better reflect what we actually do. An advisor doesn’t just book flights and hotels — we consult on destinations, match you to the right property, anticipate problems and advocate for you when things go sideways.

While resorts, all-inclusives and Sandals properties are a specialty, a travel advisor can plan virtually any type of trip — cruises, road trips, international travel, destination weddings, group trips and more.
