Las Vegas isn’t just one big cluster of casinos – it’s made up of a few distinct areas, each with its own personality. The Strip is the famous 4-mile stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard with its iconic mega-resorts, themed hotels, and most of the city’s popular attractions.

Downtown/Fremont Street is the “classic Vegas” area, packed with vintage neon, budget-friendly casinos, and the covered pedestrian mall of the Fremont Street Experience. The Hoover Dam, a wonder of engineering located on the Colorado River, is an iconic landmark that draws visitors from around the world. The official dam tour isn’t free but you can drive across, park in the free parking lots and walk down to the dam.

Built as a new access route to bypass the old route across the dam, this bridge is the the second highest bridge in the United States. You can walk the pedestrian path alongside the bridge for free and get the best some of the best views of Hoover Dam.
